Danurasana Brunei has this interesting perspective on solo practice vs. a class :
Its been ages since i attended a yoga class and actually NOT teaching. Its so much different when one is practising alone. You're more challenged in a way when you're in a class with a teacher. The challenge in solo practice, however, is to keep yourself going without actually boring yourself. But can you really bore yourself with yourself?
In a class, the teacher ( a good one) will keep attention on you and make sure you stay there in a pose, enough to be in within your limits.
In solo practice, you go half way.
In class , sequencing is made by the teacher and you just follow.
In solo practice, you think hard of what to do next and if you've missed anything, and while in the middle of thinking, you (by accident) doze off for a light nap.
Terima kasih !
