Tesa Celdran : My Altar
Another component of "ADVANCING" or the deepening of one's practice is the shift towards spirituality, stillness & meditation.
As I go forward on the path, I have begun to understand & connect with the ancient wisdom that yoga does create a direct channel towards the ATMAN , the yoke or "yuj" of union with the Divine . No deities, priests, ministers or intermediaries needed or involved. Representations of the deities in any belief system do assist in re-inforcing one's focus towards this channel , hence the existence of altars in most dedicated spaces. Buddhas ,with their sublime expressions & mudras , remind us of what ANANDA is ; and Ganesha , the Destroyer of Obstacles , he's a good guy to have around the house.
So here's an image of photographer & now Director of Pulse Yoga Manila Tesa Celdran's ( and a cousin to my first cousin ! ) altar from her "shalita" . And this is an excerpt from her blog post on it :
"As today is another day of rest, I prayed on my own today. And when I opened my eyes, I saw how lovely my altar is today. So, I thought I'd share it with you. I know I've shown a number of photos of my altar on this blog, but today, it is looking particularly full, and pretty."

Many many thanks Peter. Very true, my spirituality has truly developed, but much later from asana practice.
Hugs!
