The word of the day was " India " at the shala this morning as we celebrated the 2nd anniversary of " Thank You Mother India ".
From Jorgen's traditional Led Series , the posters & videos showing the beneficiaries of Yoga Gives Back's funding, classical Odissi dancers , bhajans playing in the shala , samosas , palak paneer & more from Samosa House ; everything resonated with what we had gotten together for , to express gratitude to India & give back.
Giving homage to its culture & spirituality which have helped us deal with life in this current CE. Keeping its traditions & RASA alive without diluting or dumbing down their essences.
Another benefit was the sense of SANGHA I got from the event. Being able to speak with classmates like Allison & Jasmine who have been to Mysore several times ( as well as other parts of India ) , has gotten me motivated to visit India before the year ends. I had been on the fence with India this year , debating whether to head back to Brazil or revisit Sydney.
Thanks once again to everyone who attended & supported the event. As Kayoko fromYGB said to me this morning , " It's very humbling that there are now 63 studios & shalas globally supporting TYMI 2011 . "
So from the seed of 1 event that I had conceptualized / organized last Oct. 2010 with my teacher to support YGB , it has blossomed into a multi-petalled lotus in 2011. All due to the power of INTENTION.
TYMI 2012 will be even better. Jaya !
